Bali will reopen October 2021 to overseas tourist
The Indonesian Tourism Minister has announced Bali will reopening for international tourism in October. After multiple plans have to reopen have been delayed, the central government says it will be ready to receive international tourists.
After finishing a meeting that took place at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic on Friday (24/9) that was attended by several government officials to evaluate the preparations from the provincial government in reopening the border for international visitors, the Tourism and Creative Economic Bali will reopen OctoberMinister, Sandiaga Uno announced that the central government has planned to reopen the international travel corridor in October.
The plan Bali will reopen October the border was initiated after receiving reports from the Vice Governor, Cok Ace about the recent Covid-19 transmissions in Bali that have significantly reduced and have been properly handled.
“After being informed that Bali is handling Covid-19 transmissions properly, Luhut immediately instructed us to prepare the reopening procedures by October 2021.” Sandiaga added.
Apart from that, the implementation of the Peduli Lindungi tracing app has been properly integrated in most of the places on the island. Sandiaga also said that he is concerned and wants to help the islands residents overcome the current economic crisis due to this travel restriction policy, causing the majority of Bali’s population to lose their only source of income.
Bali is looking to reopen its borders as of October 2021 but only to those from selected countries. Co-ordinating minister of maritime affairs and investment Luhut Pandjaitan told the media that preparations are ongoing to enable the island to welcome tourists again.
Bali will reopen October – At first, Bali will only welcoming tourist from countries that have a low spread of COVID-19 such as South Korea, Japan, Singapore and New Zealand. Mr. Luhut said, these visitors still need to serve quarantine. Australia could join the list, if it reaches a 80% of a fully vaccinated population by November.
Currently Indonesia only allows foreign nationals who hold diplomatic status or working visas to enter the country. Now that daily infections on the island had fallen 95% officials eased restrictions this week for locals.
The Government’s PPKM protocol has successfully restricted and drastically reduced the spread of the highly transmissible Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus. During a period of 3rd July to 14th September 2021, the access to the West Bali National Park was closed for the safety of the public and the park rangers.
